This small painting is an allegorical work. It represents the hopes and expectations of life in my country where, as everyone knows, it often rains. A woman and her two children, visitors to London, hold umbrellas as they protect themselves from a rainy English day. In the background, locals also hold up umbrellas as they walk in the opposite direction. Thus the painting is a metaphor for what I believe to be the current state of my country. One that is increasingly driven towards isolation, and sadly one that is sometimes far from friendly towards foreign visitors.
