This large oil painting consists of two joined panels. It is a commentary on damaged relationships. A couple attends an exhibition of painting and sculpture. They are divided by an installation of tetrapods, concrete coastal defences which have a nasty habit of destroying the environment. In the background, there is a large painting depicting two cultures set on a collision course. I took these images from a number of places. The man and woman were observed in Italy, the Americans in London, the Moroccans in Marrakech, and the tetrapods in Madeira.
