This is one of several paintings which I have set in an art gallery.
A young woman moves across the plane of the picture. Meanwhile, on the far left, another woman remains motionless and is transfixed by the same image of a handbag. Hence the painting is a commentary on the allure of fashion, and how advertising permeates our culture. Like many of my paintings, this picture combines both figurative and highly abstracted imagery, which in this case I took from the National Gallery and Piccadilly Circus, both in London where I live.
