Like other paintings in this series, I resolved to combine photography, printmaking and painting. In doing so I utilized flat overlapping elements, which are influenced by my previous use of collage. In depicting this scene I wished not only to capture the sense of colour and light I observed in Morocco, but also to contrast a photographic representation of the human figure with highly abstracted forms.
